Recently, we announced a partnership with Operation Finally Home, an organization that provides specially built houses to wounded veterans once they come home from war. Urban Companies was extremely excited to announce the first beneficiary of this partnership, Lance Cpl. Ceontre Shelton.
Shelton was with the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan when he was injured due to an IED blast. His injuries included the loss of his right leg, a left patella fracture, left nerve damage, shrapnel scars and a traumatic brain injury. He now lives in Texas with his fiancé Kyndell Hauenstein, where he attends the University Technical Institute for auto repair.
In December of last year, at a Houston Texans game, Operation Finally Home and Urban Companies announced to Shelton and his fiancé that he was getting a brand new home, specifically designed with his disability in mind.
We are now extremely excited and proud to announce the groundbreaking of his new home. Details of the groundbreaking ceremony can be found below, and they can also be found by clicking here.
