    A Lot of Progress in Two Short Months

    We normally post progress pictures at least once a month to show how things are moving along for each one of our projects, but we haven’t posted any pictures for our NOV XL Systems project since April of this year. And you would be surprised at the amount of progress has happened since then. As you can see in the pictures below, where there was once no building to be seen, we’ve erected the building and are now pouring concrete around the outside.     We have just finished constructing the main road from the temporary drill pad to Hwy 105.  NOV has us putting the finishing touches on the site and we are waiting for further instructions on the next stage of work. For additional information and pictures please click here.

    Operation: Finally Home Project Update

    Operation: Finally Home Project Update

    Recently, we announced a partnership with Operation Finally Home, an organization that provides specially built houses to wounded veterans once they come home from war. Urban Companies was extremely excited to announce the first beneficiary of this partnership, Lance Cpl. Ceontre Shelton. Shelton was with the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan when he was injured due to an IED blast. His injuries included the loss of his right leg, a left patella fracture, left nerve damage, shrapnel scars and a traumatic brain injury. He now lives in Texas with his fiancé Kyndell Hauenstein, where he attends the University Technical Institute for auto repair. In December of last year, at a Houston Texans game, Operation Finally Home and Urban Companies announced to Shelton and his fiancé that he was getting a brand new home, specifically designed with his disability in mind. We are now extremely excited and proud to announce the groundbreaking of his new home. Details of the groundbreaking ceremony can be found below, and they can also be found by clicking here.     NOV Firebrick II

    NOV Firebrick II

    There has been great progress made since our last aerials were taken in late April for our NOV Firebrick II project. At that time we had laid out all the materials on the foundation to begin installing the tilt-walls. Our newest aerials for May show that all the tilt-walls have gone up as well as the entire roof.
