Urban Companies and Operation Finally Home Team Up To Give Veteran Lance Cpl. Ceontre Shelton A Home
Veterans such as Lance Cpl. Ceontre Shelton of the United States Marine Corps, a Purple Heart recipient who was injured in Afghanistan when he sustained several injuries from an IED blast, including the loss of his right leg, a left patella fracture, left nerve damage, shrapnel scars and a traumatic brain injury. Shelton joined the army in 2010 after graduating high school with tenure in the ROTC program, and now lives in Texas with his fiancé Kyndell Hauenstien, attending the University Technical Institute for auto repair. He plans to become a certified auto repair technician for Ford upon completion of the program.
Operation FINALLY HOME is a fantastic organization, and one Urban Companies is thrilled to be partnered with – a partnership that began once Shelton was selected as the recipient of a brand new home. On December 1st, 2013 Shelton was honored at the Houston Texans game against the New England Patriots, receiving an autographed football by the team. Shortly after receiving the football, Dan Wallrath, the founder of Operation FINALLY HOME, gave Shelton the news that his family was chosen to receive a custom-built mortgage-free home in Houston, Texas. Additionally, HEB announced that they would stock his pantries full of groceries.
The joy that Shelton and his fiancé felt on the football field was palpable. Operation FINALLY HOME is an amazing organization that really gives back to the men and women that give so much for our country.
